More About Allie Rieken

Clinical Interests:

I enjoy working with children (ages 4 and older), adolescence and adults. I enjoy seeing clients who are wanting help to improve their quality of life in all aspects as I have knowledge and expertise working with individuals with disabilities. Areas of particular interest are ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Self-Esteem, Life Transitions, Emotional Regulation, Grief/loss, Disability, and Women’s Health (postpartum depression and anxiety).

Clinical Approach:

My clinical approach begins with using a person-centered approach with all my clients because I believe providing clients with empathy and unconditional positive regard is fundamental in order to help facilitate change and growth. I do use some aspects of CBT, DBT, solutions-focused, ACT and frequently teach clients mindfulness skills.

I utilize play therapy techniques and love using art with children as play is so important to their development.

Hobbies:

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I love animals, especially dogs. I enjoy being outdoors when it’s nice outside soaking up the sun and love going for walks with my dog. I enjoy playing games, reading, watching TV, and baking.
