As a psychologist, Barbara works collaboratively with individuals to help them explore what has led to current suffering and how to approach their suffering in ways that can lead to a more fulfilling life. She considers herself a generalist in that she works with many different presenting issues from anxiety, depression and grief to issues of life transition, such as adjustment to collegiate life and retirement.
Within that quest, Barbara's nursing background has helped her to be mindful of biological and health issues as they may relate to emotional and spiritual wellness. As a psychologist, she is also able to offer psychologist assessment for issues such as addressing questions regarding a person's ability to function in his or her world, personality assessment, pre-surgical approval and the construction of a personalized treatment regimen. Barbara's minor area of focus in her education was in developmental psychology and the psychology of women.
